Ask any pro golf player about the position of the ball and he or she will reply back in no uncertain terms that the position of the golf ball is as important as the player’s stance and the timing to make a shot successful. Some players might put their hands forward at the start of their stroke while some press forward at the time of executing the stroke. There is another twist in this setup and that is the distribution of weight between the feet. Some golfers are known to transfer more weigh to their left foot by leaning towards the hole.
There are some more options that add to the confusion. There are different types of putter paths that include “inside square inside” to “straight back and through”. If you opt in for the “inside square inside” the position of the ball is very critical since you shall have only one position option and that is when the face of your putter will be perpendicular in respect to your line of aiming.
