Golfing Tips At Your Fingertips in Articles
The swing, the slice and ultimately the golfing
experience is one that can be as enjoyable as you want it to be. But it takes
much more than a trendy tee shirt, expensive golf clubs and a stylish stance to
have a good golf game. And the novice golfer needs to go through as many golf
tips as possible in order to improve his game. Of course, one can nag golfing
acquaintances and seniors but mastering some of these tips will go a long way in
getting you the confidence you need.
Let us get started from the very
basics. A strong foundation can make way for good golf!
The club
and your grip: the long stick that you hit the ball with, yes, that
golf club can make or break a game. When you get into golf, a golf club is the
first thing you come across. Mastering your grip is an important thing. The
right pressure can enhance your control over the club and improve your swing.
Hold the club more with the fingers than within the palm. The forefinger and the
thumb create a ‘V’ so that a golfer standing opposite to you will only see the
1st 2 knuckles of your hand. The little finger meets the forefinger under the
grip. This is the standard neutral style and is good to master. You can have
one, two and 3 knuckle grip for different swing
styles.
Relax: don’t be too rigid. Relax your muscles.
It helps, seriously. Golf is so much about getting the right balance and you
will not get that by trying to stand like a still board. You must be able to
hold the golf club easily for a shot at the ball. Do not try any awkward
movements for the sake of keeping still. But yes, you must try to have your head
still as you need to focus on the ball. All this adds to a good stance, good
balance and hopefully, a good shot!
Stance for the
slice: make sure your shoulders face your goal. Ideally, your feet need
to be as apart as your shoulders. Make sure your elbows are positioned
correctly. At your feet, even the golf club must face the goal you
have.
Style your swing: there is the backswing and there
is the downswing. Make sure you get the basics right. Follow the progress of the
ball and check out what stance helps you the most. This is helpful for your golf
slice. Swing styling can help with distance shots as well.
Decide the
slice: push, pull and straight, have you heard of these 3 different kinds of
slice? If you haven’t, make note. Incorrect angle can ruin the swing. The ideal
angle of shaft would be 45 degree. A little here and there and your ball might
roll just past the path!
Every game has a sort of history backing it up and
golf in not any exception to this. This game is different from every other sport
by the way that it is played. There are some who call this game insane but
insane or not, I have always been curious as to the origin of this game. The
history of this game is as murky as the game itself as you will agree when you
read some of the alleged ‘facts’ that I have listed below.
